Nestled beneath the century-old live oaks of Old Mandeville, where Spanish moss drapes across quiet streets leading toward Lake Pontchartrain, The Old Mandeville Maison Company, LLC was founded in 2025 by Navy veteran Leonce “Trae” J. Miller III, his wife, Joy, and their golden retriever, Beignet.

The company was created around a simple idea: clients deserve experienced professionals who take the time to understand the problem, provide practical solutions, and stand behind the quality of their work. The Old Mandeville Maison Company combines broad professional experience with the responsiveness and personal attention of a boutique consulting firm.

Trae is a native of New Orleans whose career has spanned engineering, law, safety, project and program management, operations, and executive leadership. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in thirteen U.S. states and two Canadian provinces and is a licensed attorney-at-law in both Louisiana and Texas. He also holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), and Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials and serves as a Notary Public in St. Tammany Parish.

Over the course of his career, Trae has progressed from individual technical and project roles to senior executive leadership, including service as the president of an engineering consulting business. That experience has given him a practical understanding of organizations from both the technical and business sides—how work is performed, how projects are managed, how risk is controlled, how resources are used, and how businesses can become safer, more efficient, and more effective.

Joy brings a complementary background in management, administration, customer service, education, and financial-services support. A native of Pennsylvania, she has lived in the South long enough to proudly call it home. Earlier in her career, Joy held a Community Association Manager (CAM) license and served as the general manager of a resort property in the Florida Panhandle. She later worked with a boutique financial-planning firm in Houston, Texas, and subsequently served as a substitute teacher with the Katy Independent School District before returning to the Mandeville area.

Together, Trae and Joy bring different but complementary perspectives to the company. Their shared philosophy is that professional services should be technically sound, thoughtfully delivered, clearly communicated, and centered on the needs of the client.
